SR girls felled at Hickory, 37-33
Marissa Siebka tried to take over the game and rally the Slippery Rock High girls basketball team to a road victory over Hickory Thursday night.
Siebka scored 17 points — 10 in the second half — but the Rockets fell to the Hornets 37-33.
Despite the loss, Slippery Rock (15-7, 9-1) shares the Region 5-AAA title with Hickory (20-1, 9-1).
The Rockets beat the Hornets in their last meeting.
Sedona Campbell added nine points for Slippery Rock.

Stone Haberstroh scored a pair of goals, including the game-winner, as Freeport edged Franklin Regional 3-2.
Robert Reichenbaugh also scored for Freeport.
Cathedral Prep 4, Butler 1 — Christopher Martin put the Golden Tornado up 1-0 early, but Butler could not maintain that momentum in this loss.
Butler was out-shot 33-21.
