'Cats' roam the stage at Grove City
GROVE CITY — Grove City High School will present the musical “Cats” at 7 p.m. April 5, 6 and 7 at the high school theater, 511 Highland Ave.
Tickets are $5 for students and senior citizens and $7 for adults. Tickets are available at the door or in presale packages in the high school office.
Patrick McElroy is the director, and Hannah Jaskiewicz is the music director and orchestra conductor.
Hanna Srour is the student director, and Ashley Hazey is the choreographer. Kassie Boyd is the state manager, and Justin Greggs the assistant stage manager.
Based on “Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats” by T.S. Eliot, “Cats” is full of characters and songs for audience members of all ages.
The Jellicle Cats come out to play on one special night of the year — the night of the Jellicle Ball.
One by one they tell their stories for the amusement of Old Deuteronomy, their wise and benevolent leader, who must choose one of the cats to ascend to the Heaviside Layer and be reborn into a whole new Jellicle life.
