Mahood

Adam Mahood of Butler has been awarded the Rensselaer Medal by the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.A student at North Catholic High School, he was chosen for the award based on performance in mathematics and science.Mahood will be eligible for a $60,000 scholarship upon acceptance and enrollment to the institute.———

<B>Jay Mason</B>, son of Dennis and Jane Mason of Cranberry Township was inducted into the National Communication Association Honor Society, Lambda Pi Eta.A communications major at West Virginia University, Mason will serve as vice president of his chapter for the 2006-07 school year.———

<B>Zachary Pyle</B> of Petrolia has been accepted to the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. He will be inducted this fall at Penn State University.———

The following students have been selected to participate in the President's Scholars Program at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown:<B>Thomas Day</B>, son of Richard and Elizabeth Day of Mars, a recent graduate of Mars High School.<B>Sarah Hoffman</B>, daughter of Rich and Joyce Hoffman of Saxonburg, a recent graduate of Knoch High School.<B>Whitney Wurmb</B> of Cabot, daughter of Harry and Valerie Brake and Edward and Sandy Wurmb, a recent graduate of Knoch High School.
