Alex Penn, son of Dave and Denise Penn of Saxonburg, has been awarded a scholarship from the Wellington C. Carl Fund of the Pittsburgh Foundation.A sophomore mechanical engineering major at the University of Pittsburgh, he is a member of the Japanese Club, Animé Club and the Honors Gaming Club, where he serves as president.A2005 graduate of Knoch High School, he also serves as a teacher's assistant for the freshman engineering department.
