Cases, hospitalizations and deaths attributed to COVID-19 have skyrocketed in Butler County since early fall.

At the beginning of October, there were 1,125 total presumed or confirmed positive coronavirus cases in the county; that number has climbed more than 800% to 9,191 cases as of Dec. 29.

Twenty-five deaths had been attributed to the novel virus by Oct. 2; 185 individuals have died due to COVID-19 as of Dec. 29. And on Oct. 2, one person was hospitalized due to the virus, and that number has increased to 65, with seven patients in the intensive care unit at Butler Memorial Hospital.
