1 driver hurt in 2-vehicle crash
PENN TWP — A man was transported to the hospital following a car crash around 5 p.m. Tuesday at Pittsburgh and Brownsdale roads.
Penn Township, Middlesex Township and state police responded to the crash, along with the Penn Township Volunteer Fire Department.
The injured man was driving a Honda Civic sedan north on Route 8, when a Chevy truck pulled into the intersection attempting to drive across Route 8 from Brownsdale Road to Church Road, according to police.
The sedan hit the side of the truck, causing heavy front-end damage to the car and significant damage to the side of the truck. Airbags in both vehicle deployed.
Police said the man driving the sedan was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries to the wrist and chest. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
The accident did not affect traffic on Route 8, but did block traffic to and from Brownsdale Road for about an hour.
