The National Honor Society of

Union High School recently held a coin drive to benefit the Clarion County division of the American Cancer Society.Participating students raised $75 during the two-week collection, in which students donated coins under the name of a teacher. The teachers receiving the most coins received a pie in the face during a recent assembly.———

Anthony Bury of Cowansville, a history/political science major at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford, recently received the Student Life Award for outstanding leadership, scholarship, character and service to the university.———

Christopher Passione, son of Jim and Laurie Passione of Valencia, has been inducted to the Sigma Pi Sigma National Honor Society at Westminster College.Aphysics major at the college, he is a 2004 graduate of Mars High School.———Two Butler County residents were among students inducted into the Lambda Sigma leadership honor society for sophomores at Westminster College recently.Inductees included

Elizabeth Skubak has been named a Barry M. Goldwater Scholar for the 2007-08 academic year.Amathematics major at Bucknell, she is the daughter of James and Michele Skubak of Cranberry Township.Skubak is a 2005 graduate of Seneca Valley High School.
