Twenty-four members of the

Knoch High School chapter of the Future Business Leaders of America attended the 2007 Pennsylvania FBLA State Leadership Conference recently in Hershey.More than 3,000 Pennsylvania students attended the conference, competing in business, career and leadership development events.During the state event, Knoch student

Brianna Brucker qualified for the national competition by earning first place in the Word Processing I category.Brucker, 15, is a freshman at Knoch High School, where she is a cheerleader and a member of the softball team. She will compete in the national competition to be held June 28 to July 1 in Chicago.Other Knoch students placing at the state competition were

Christa Moore, fourth place, Community Service.Before attending the conference, the Knoch chapter raised $2,034 to donate to the American Red Cross, the FBLA's 2007 state project.———

<B>Abigail Oesterling</B>, daughter of Tim and Kathy Oesterling of Butler, has been named a United States National Award Winner in mathematics and history and government by the United States Achievement Academy.Oesterling is a student at Portersville Christian School.———

<B>Katherine Cahoon</B> of Butler was presented the Above and Beyond the Call of Duty award recently at Shepherd University for her work as a resident assistant at the school.
