Victoria Cox, daughter of Dave and Sandi Cox of Evans City, was recently awarded scholarships from the Golden Tornado Scholastic Foundation and the Butler Junior Women's Club. She also received the Elks Club Scholarship and the Glenn R. Logan Scholarship.A recent graduate of Butler High School, she has been accepted to Indiana (Pa.) University, where she plans to major in consumer science.———

<B>Butler Health System </B>and the <B>Butler Memorial Hospital Auxiliary</B> recently awarded six scholarships of $1,000 each to students pursuing an education in the health care field.Recipients included <B>Robert Alden</B>, <B>Heather Fagen</B>, <B>Brooke Gilliland, Shannon Hemphill, Megan Macoskey</B> and <B>Lisa Rodgers</B>.Alden recently earned his diploma in nursing from Citizens School of Nursing. Aresident of Freeport, he plans to pursue a bachelor's degree in nursing at Waynesburg College.The daughter of Lisa and George Phillips and James Fagen, all of Butler, Fagen is a recent graduate of Butler High School. She plans to study obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Pittsburgh.Gilliland, a Butler resident, is pursuing a bachelor of science degree in nursing at Waynesburg College. The daughter of Robin and Lindee Gilliland, she is currently a registered nurse at BMH.Hemphill is the daughter of Marlene Hays of Lyndora. Arecent graduate of Butler High School, she plans to attend Gannon University and become a physician's assistant.The daughter of Eric and Mary Jane Macoskey of Renfrew, Macoskey is a Butler High School graduate. She plans to enter Allegheny College this fall and would like to become a physician.AFenelton resident, Rodgers is the daughter of Kathleen Rodgers and George Rodgers. Agraduate of Butler High School, she plans to pursue a degree in physical therapy at the University of Dayton.———

<B>Erica Reeves</B> of Chicora has been accepted to Gannon University as a physician assistant major for the fall 2007 semester.The daughter of William and Janis Reeves, she is a graduate of Butler High School. At the school, she was a member of the College Tech Prep Honor Roll and the Spanish Club.She is the recipient of a Gannon University Leadership Scholarship and an Academic Excellence Award.
