James Daniels IV of Cranberry Township was awarded a minority achievement award to attend Mount Union College in Alliance, Ohio.A graduate of Seneca Valley High School, James graduated in the top 15 percent of his class.He was a member of the varsity baseball and varsity football teams. He also was the play-by-play announcer for the varsity basketball team.The award is the result of an essay competition and on-campus interview and considers the student's involvement in community service.James is the son of James and Donna Daniels of Cranberry Township.———

Michelle Calabrese of Gibsonia was awarded a college scholarship by Brennan Builders in Evans City.———

Jamie Czech of Knoch High School attended the Western Pennsylvania Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership Seminar from June 12 to 15 at Washington and Jefferson College. She was among more than 100 students representing high schools in 27 counties in Western Pennsylvania.
