At the Seneca Valley awards night, the

Cranberry Rotary Club awarded $1,500 scholarships to students based on community service and academic achievement. The four winners were chosen from a field of more than 50 applicants. The decision process included a written application, along with a personal interview.Following are the winners and the schools they will be attending:

Bria Koch, Grove City College;

Sara DeRiggi, Clarion University;

Kelli Moon, Pennsylvania State University;

John Fitzpatrick, Pennsylvania State University.—-

Katherine Reuning was designated as Student Distinguished in Scholarship by the Bethany College Honors Committee.Reuning is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Reuning III of Saxonburg.—-Douglas Gebhart of West Sunbury recently was named to the Distinguished Scholar's List at Montreat College. Students must achieve a grade-point average of 3.9 or above to receive this honor.—-Kyle Uhlman, son of Steve and Mary Beth Uhlman of Butler, was elected to Temple University's Philadelphia chapter of Phi Beta Kappa. He attended Butler Catholic School and is a graduate of Vincentian Academy of Duquesne University. He is a member of the honors college and law scholar program.—-Anthony Colangeli of Sarver has been accepted for admission to Saint Vincent College for the fall 2008 semester.Colangeli, son of Tony and Buffy Colangeli, graduated from Freeport Senior High School. He plans to major in engineering.—-

Garret Muir of Butler has been accepted for admission to Saint Vincent College for the fall 2008 semester.Muir graduated from Butler Senior High School in 2006 and will transfer to Saint Vincent College from Butler County Community College.—-Elissa Bates of Fenelton was awarded a Dean's Scholarship to attend Mount Union College.She is a graduate of Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School, was a member of the swim team and was a national Bible quizzer.Student announcements should include the name and phone number of the person providing the information and be sent to: Focus, Butler Eagle, P.O.
