Victoria Fuellgraf of Butler is a recipient of the Academic Excellence Scholarship for the 2008-09 academic year at Edinboro University.The scholarship is offered annually to students who have exhibited academic excellence and who plan to be enrolled full time during each semester of the award.Victoria is the daughter of William and Melanie Fuellgraf. She is a graduate of Knoch High School.———

Alisha Thomas, both of East Butler, received $2,000 Brothers' Scholarships from the Heritage Group Scholarship Fund. Brothers' Scholarships are awarded each year to outstanding students who intend to enroll at an accredited two- or four-year college or university.Both plan to attend Butler County Community College this fall.Students may apply to the Brothers' Scholarship Program if their parent is employed by the Heritage Group. They are the children of Rick Thomas, a Calumet-Penreco employee.———

Erin Flynn of Mars accepted membership in the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. She will be honored during an induction convocation this fall at the University of Cincinnati.
