Scott Vascik was accepted to the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie.He is the son of Arthur and Kathy Vascik of Sarver and a graduate of Freeport High School.

———<B>Brad Cottage </B>of Butler was accepted for admission to Saint Vincent College for the fall 2008 semester.He is the son of Dale and Dee Cottage and is a 2006 graduate of Butler High School. He plans to major in criminal justice at Saint Vincent College.

———<B>Mark Poydence</B> was accepted to Hampden-Sydney College for the 2008 fall semester.Poydence is a graduate of Seneca Valley High School and is the son of Arianne Poydence and Eugene Citrone, both of Cranberry Township.

———<B>Neil Smith</B> was accepted to Hampden-Sydney College for the 2008 fall semester.Smith is a graduate of Slippery Rock High School and is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bradley Smith of Slippery Rock.

———<B>LeAnn Munoz</B> of Conneaut Lake was accepted to the University of Pittsburgh, Titusville, for the fall 2008 term.She is the daughter of Shirley Stewart of Harrisville and the late Brice Stewart. Munoz is a 1998 graduate of Moniteau High School.

———<B>Ethan Turner</B>, son of Todd and Katrina Turner of Renfrew, captured first place in the boy's under 12 division of the Arthur Ashe Essay Contest conducted by the U.S. Tennis Association. The assigned topic was "How do you Exemplify the Ideals of Arthur Ashe?"Turner, a seventh grader in Butler School District who attended Connoquenessing Elementary School, participates in the Butler Junior Tennis Association summer program.
