Lindsay Moore, the daughter of Jerry and Barbara Moore of Butler, is doing doctoral research in South Africa, studying the ecological and toxicological factors on breeding success of lesser flamingos. She will finish her doctorate in 2011 at Clemson University.Moore is a 2001 Butler High School graduate, a 2005 Indiana (Pa.) University graduate and a 2008 graduate of Clemson University, where she received a master's degree in wildlife and fisheries biology.

Levi Sanchez of Grove City was one of six Westminster College students who received travel and presentation grants from Westminster's Drinko Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning to present papers at Susquehanna University's Department of English and Creative Writing Undergraduate Conference Feb. 15 to 16.Sanchez, a senior English major, is a son of Annette Sanchez of Grove City and a Grove City High School graduate.———
Samuel Morrow of Butler accepted membership in the Golden Key International Honour Society and was honored during a recent induction ceremony at Duquesne University.Morrow is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Morrow of Butler and is a 2007 Butler High School graduate.———
Maxwell McCurdy of Butler has been cast as Vinnie in Baldwin-Wallace College's production of "The Odd Couple"
to run Feb. 26, 28 and March 1.McCurdy is a freshmen at Baldwin-Wallace majoring in theater. He belongs to Theta Alpha Phi, a theater honorary, as well as the Faces for Radio Improv troupe and the College Democrats. He previously was cast in a college production of the "Marriage of Bette and Boo."
He is a 2008 Butler High School graduate and the son of Zane and Mary McCurdy.
