Alyssa Vigliotti of Sarver is one of 31 delegates traveling to Costa Rica from Thursday to July 26 as part of People to People International's Global Youth Forum Humanitarian Conference.Vigliotti will learn about sustainability while touring the country, getting to know the culture and participating in many humanitarian projects.A student at Freeport High School, she is the daughter of Donald Vigliotti and Kathy Salvaggi.———
Joni Magill, a recent Duquesne University graduate, received the inaugural Dick Williamson Work-Study Award from Duquesne University and St. Anthony School for her work in the St. Anthony School post-secondary program.Magill, who is from Humble, Texas, graduated in May with a degree in speech pathology.The award was presented by Linda Williamson of Cranberry Township, Dick Williamson's widow; Rod Dobish, director of facilities management at Duquesne who helped to establish the program; Gary Eiseman, director of the St. Anthony post-secondary program; and Mark Sieg, executive director of the St. Anthony school programs.The Dick Williamson Work-Study Award is named for the late director of human resources at Duquesne University, who encouraged university work-study students to serve as job coaches and mentors for the students in the St. Anthony School secondary program.———
Zachary Smith of Butler was awarded a trustee scholarship to attend Mount Union College.A senior at Butler High School, he is a member of the National Honor Society and band.
