Ashley Thiebaud of Butler was awarded the Jerb Miller Scholarship for $16,000 and the Greg Fleming Memorial Scholarship for $1,000.
A graduate of Butler High School, she was accepted to Westminster College, where she will major in Spanish and minor in secondary education.
In high school, she earned a 3.8 grade-point average. Her activities included the Sequinette flag team, track and field, thespian club, Spanish club, French club and candy striping at Butler Memorial Hospital.
She is the daughter of John and Sandy Thiebaud of Renfrew and Susan Thiebaud of Butler.

Marino Quercio Jr. of Butler was accepted at Gannon University, where he will study criminal justice.He received a wrestling scholarship at Gannon.A graduate of Butler High School, he is the son of Marino and Tammy Quercio.———
<B>Melissa Schettler</B> of Connoquenessing was granted a full scholarship to attend Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week 2009 at the campus of Lycoming College in William-sport.A junior, Schettler attended a weeklong session Aug. 2 to Saturday. During the week, student companies simulate the operation of their own businesses for the equivalent of three years and face many of the same decisions real executives confront. The students also learn about business ethics, management skills and more.A student at Butler High School, she is the daughter of Ron and Debbie Schettler.———Sherwood Oaks awarded scholarship grants to 39 employees for the 2009-10 school year. Now in its ninth year, the program has awarded $229,746 in grants to be used for any college, vocational school or accredited training program.More than $38,000 on scholarship funds were donated by residents of the retirement community.
