The Pennsylvania Automotive Association Foundation awarded $5,000 scholarships to
Veronica Cardello, a senior at Slippery Rock High School, and
Kendra Potsubay, a graduate student at Clarion University, renewable for four years to total $20,000, in honor of their community service.The foundation awarded a total of $260,000 to 18 students in Pennsylvania.———
Kelly Hilderbrand of Fenelton was named an Outstanding Senior by the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Robert Morris University.Hilderbrand was recommended for the award by James Rebele, professor of accounting and head of the accounting and taxation department at Robert Morris, for her success in the classroom and potential for a promising career in accounting. The award is given to one senior accounting major at each of the 80 participating Pennsylvania colleges and universities.Hilderbrand will begin her accounting career at Maher Duessel in Pittsburgh.———
Robert Herold of Butler, a senior majoring in marketing at Clemson University, received the Marketing Distinction Award for 2010 from the College of Business and Behavioral Science.Recipients of this award earned a 4.0 in at least five marketing courses and have a cumulative grade-point average above 3.5.Herold is one of 11 winners of the award this year.———
Elizabeth Spingola, a student at Butler High School, was awarded a Best Buy @ 15 Scholarship. Recipients were chosen based on academic achievement, community involvement and work experience.Spingola plans to attend Ohio Northern University.
