Melissa Baker with the second Dick Williamson Work-Study Award, which is given in memory of the late director of human resources at Duquesne University.Williamson is the widow of Dick Williamson, who was instrumental in encouraging Duquesne University work-study students to serve as job coaches and mentors for students enrolled in the St. Anthony School Secondary Program at Duquesne University.Baker was recognized for her work with special needs students. A resident of Forest Hill, Md., she is enrolled as a fifth-year speech-language pathology student in the Rangos School of Health Sciences at Duquesne.———

Shannon Gallagher and
Logan Renwick were named as recipients of the 2010 Rosanne Cavalero and Jane Cavalero Scholarships in the amount of $7,274.Gallagher plans to study mathematics at Carnegie Mellon University. She is the daughter of Michael and Kathleen Gallagher of Butler.Renwick plans to study mechanical engineering at Notre Dame University. He is the son of Jeffrey and Patricia Renwick of Butler.The Rosanne and Jane Cavalero Scholarships are distributed through the Wellington C. Carl Fund of the Pittsburgh Foundation. The funds provide scholarships in equal shares to the male and female graduates of Butler High School having the highest cumulative grade-point average who pursue post-secondary education.
<B>William Kapcio</B> has been awarded an Air Force ROTC scholarship to attend a host college or university.He is the son of Robert and Patricia Kapcio of Jacksonville, Fla., and grandson of Steve and Jennie Kapcio of East Syracuse, N.Y., and Jack and Dorothy Mueller of Valencia.Kapcio is currently attending Stanton College Preparatory School, Jacksonville.———Butler High School student <B>Sarah Tilko</B> was awarded a scholarship as part of Eat 'n Park Hospitality Group's annual scholarship program.Tilko is a team member at Eat 'n Park's Butler (Clearview) location.The program provides more than $50,000 in scholarships each year and is designed to reward team members for work within the organization and the local community. Twelve local high school students were among the 2010 scholarship recipients.———<B>Carly Burns</B> of Cranberry Township was awarded a $3,000 scholarship by the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Burns is a student at Carlow University.Burns is on the dean's list at Carlow and was co-captain of the tennis team in her sophomore year. She is also a member of Alpha Phi Omega service fraternity and Spirit, the school's student promotions and recruitment team.
