STUDENT DIRECTORY
The Moniteau Academic Decathlon team was named overall Regional Champions Feb. 4 and 5 at Thiel College.
The team includes seniors

John Klecha, juniors
Tim Shearer,
Clarissa Kimmey and
John Cravenor, sophomores
Amanda Mock,
Angela Schandelmeier and
Roman Weingartner and freshman
Jake Taciuch.They endured seven tests, a prepared speech, an impromptu speech, an interview and an essay.The team earned 48 out of 100 medals.Overall medals were awarded to
Roman Weingartner, bronze, varsity;
John Klecha, silver, varsity;
Amanda Mock, bronze, scholastic; and
Tim Shearer, gold, scholastic.
Clarissa Kimmey was the team’s highest scorer.The team will travel March 5 and 6 to Bellefonte, Pa., for the state championship.The team will have to win to represent Pennsylvania in April at the National Competition in Charlotte, N.C.———
Melinda Bierhals of Cabot was named to the fall 2010 President’s List at Bethany College.———
Elizabeth Papantonio of Zelienople is a member of the National Society for Minorities in Hospitality at Ashland University.She is the daughter of Tony Papantonio and Karen Haluck and is majoring in hospitality management.——-—
Erica Lieb of Butler, a sophomore pharmacy major, has been awarded the University of Findlay’s David L. and Edith J. Morris Scholarship.A 2009 graduate of Butler High School, she is the daughter of Lesley and Eric Lieb, of Butler.———
James Allen of Evans City has accepted admission to the University of Northwestern Ohio, where he will enter the diesel technology program.He is the son of James and Marlene Allen of Evans City.———-
Hannah Lamberto of Cranberry Township was named to the honor’s list at Fairleigh Dickinson University’s College at Florham in Madison, N.J.———-
Jeffrey Mitch of Butler has accepted membership in the Golden Key International Honor Society and was honored during a new member recognition event at Duquesne University.———-The following area students have been named Alden Scholars for the 2009-2010 academic year at Allegheny College.Alden Scholar awards are presented to students who maintained a grade-point average of 3.2 or higher during the preceding academic year.Butler:
