The Westminster College chapter of Kappa Mu Epsilon mathematics honor society inducted 13 new members at a dinner and ceremony March 10, including

Lisa Kaylor of Chicora.Kaylor, a sophomore mathematics major, is the daughter of Karen Kaylor and the late Terry Kaylor and a graduate of Karns City High School.Kappa Mu Epsilon, a national honor society, was founded to promote the interest in mathematics among undergraduate students in colleges and universities that offer a strong mathematics major. Members are selected from students in mathematics and closely related disciplines who have maintained standards of scholarship, have professional merit and have attained academic distinction.———Two students competed April 2 in the 72nd annual Pittsburgh Regional Science and Engineering Fair (PRSEF).More than 1,000 students from more than 100 schools in the region competed for cash and scholarships. Local winners included

Kelly Doyle of Knoch High School, who won an award in biology, and

Robert Gorog of Freeport High School, who won an award in earth/space/environment.———

Melina Jockel of Evans City has accepted admission to Edinboro University, where she will study secondary education. A student at Mars High School, she is the daughter of Kevin and Sharon Jockel.
