The following students were named National Merit Scholars:
Emily Smith of Mars received the National Merit Denison University Scholarship. A graduate of Pine Richland High School, she will study dramaturgy.
Daniel Willard of Cranberry Township received the National Merit Bucknell University Scholarship. A graduate of Seneca Valley High School, he will study chemical engineering.———The following local students received $2,000 Brothers Scholarship, renewable for three years, from the Heritage Group Scholarship Fund.Students may apply to the scholarship program if their parent is employed by the Heritage Group.
Joshua Howryla of Butler plans to attend the Pittsburgh Technical Institute. He is the son of Randolph Howryla, a Calumet employee in Karns City.
Mackenzie Hohn of Chicora plans to attend Clarion University. She is the daughter of Mary Hohn, a Calumet employee in Karns City.Calumet is a Heritage Group company.
