Ozzy Osbourne part of dinner party Tuesday

Rock star Ozzy Osbourne, second from left, poses with Rachel's Roadhouse workers, from left, Cory Williams, Ron Kappy and Jose Olivio on Tuesday night at the restaurant in Butler Township. Osbourne said he was in Butler to film a segment for the History Channel.

BUTLER TWP — “Everybody thinks it’s a fake ... but no, that’s Ozzy,” Cory Williams says of the photograph of him, his co-workers and the legendary rock star in Rachel’s Roadhouse.

The restaurant staff says Ozzy Osbourne, his son Jack, and a party of about two dozen people visited the restaurant Tuesday night to celebrate the birthday of a man in the party.

Osbourne, who ordered a black-and-blue steak — medium well to well done — and iced tea — lots of lemons — told the staff he’d be in town only one day.

The staff said they were told earlier in the afternoon that a party was booking the restaurant’s private room about 10 p.m., and a celebrity was in the mix. The identity of the celebrity remained a secret until he walked in the door.

“I won a rock-paper-scissors to help with the service,” said 32-year-old Jose Olivio of Butler.

“We were waiting, watching. And at about 9, we saw the entourage pull up,” said bar manager Ron Kappy, 45, of Wampum.

Williams, a 30-year-old one-time Black Sabbath fan, said he recognized Osbourne at first sight ... “but when he spoke I said, ‘This is definitely him.’”

In addition to dinner, the group had a cake and stayed about two hours. The restaurant staff said the group was nice, and only after dining did they ask about getting a picture.

“They were all super nice,” Williams said.

The restaurant staff said Osbourne and his group acted no different from other patrons.

“It went off without a hitch,” Olivio joked. “But I had to try really hard not to stare,”

The group says Osbourne was in Butler to film a segment for the History Channel. However, no one at the channel could be reached. And no official in Butler County was aware of any filming going on.

“They were all hush-hush about what they were filming and no one wanted to intrude,” Olivio said.

The photograph at the restaurant quickly made its rounds on social media.

“Some people don’t believe it’s him but it’s definitely him,” Olivio said. “Some people are jealous ... It was awesome.”
