Emiley Duespohl

Emiley Duespohl of Pittsburgh was inducted into the International Honor Society of Nursing at Du-quesne University, Epsilon Phi chapter of nursing Sigma Theta Tau.

Duespohl was also awarded the 2012 Shirley P. Smith Scholarship Award as well as the student leaders Nurse Role award.

She is the daughter of Tom and Colleen Duespohl of Butler and a 2009 graduate of Butler High School.

Lauren Weiland and Nathaniel Snodgrass were awarded the 2012 Roseanne Cavalero and Jane Cavalero Scholarships for $6,299 each.The scholarships are distributed through the Wellington C. Carl Fund of the Pittsburgh Foundation.They are awarded to male and female graduates from Butler High School with the highest cumulative GPA who pursue post-secondary education.Weiland is the daughter of Curt and Kathryn Weiland of Butler. She will attend Penn State University to study biological science.Snodgrass is the son of Rodger and Ann Snodgrass of Butler. He will attend the United States Naval Academy to study quantitative economics.———Jaimie Daum of Butler has been selected to participate in the American Chemical Society Summer Schools in Nuclear and Radiochemistry from June 10 to July 21 at Brookhaven National Laboratory.Daum graduated in 2009 from Butler High School and is a senior at Westminster College, where she is a chemistry major and math minor.Daum is the daughter of Warren and Darby Daum of Butler.———Vincent Smith of Butler was inducted into the Juniata College chapter of the Tau Pi Phi Honorary Society for business and economics.He was also awarded the J. Aldus and Mildred Hale Rinehart Endowed Merit Scholarship in business administration, and the Wolf-Kuhn Foundation Business Scholarship at the recent 2012 Spring Awards Convocation.Vincent will be a senior majoring in marketing and entrepreneurship.A 2009 graduate of Mars High School, Vincent is the son of Walter and Gloria Smith.Erin Close of Butler received the Bruce Manwaring Award from Syracuse University's College of Visual and Performing Arts.The award is given to a deserving student in printmaking.Close is a graduating printmaking major.———John-Paul Lisella of Harmony and Reba Luffy of Butler were awarded the 2012 Saint Michael's College Book Award for Academic Achievement with a Social Conscience.John-Paul is a student at Quigley Catholic High School.Reba is a student at Saint Joseph High School.
