Ian Eckstein has been accepted to the University of Pittsburgh at Titusville for fall 2012.

Eckstein is a 2011 graduate of Butler High School, where he was a member of the varsity soccer team.

He is the son of Jim and Stacy Eckstein of Butler.

Renee Clouse of Butler has been selected for the Dr. Willard W. Hennemann Jr. Memorial Scholarship at Indiana (Pa.) University.

The Dr. Willard W. Hennemann Jr. Memorial Scholarship is awarded to junior or senior students majoring in mathematics education.

Clouse is a member of IUP’s swim club and the Preservice Teachers of Mathematics club.

She is the daughter of John and Vicki Clouse and is a 2010 graduate of Butler High School.

Sara-Lynn Hunter of Mars has received the Excellence in Chapter Presidency Award from Indiana (Pa.) University.

The award is given to one sorority president at Indiana (Pa.) University. She served as the president of Alpha Xi Delta sorority and secretary of the Eta Sigma Delta honor society.

Hunter is the daughter of Cheryl Hunter and is a 2008 graduate of Mars High School.

She is a hospitality management major and a dean’s list student.

Hunter has participated in the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life in memory of her father, Eugene Hunter.

She also participated in Greek fundraising events for Autism Speaks, the Salvation Army, the Indiana County Community Action Program and the Make-a-Wish Foundation.

Sarah Brunson of Grove City, Jacob Fallon of Cranberry Township, Nicholas Kasunic of Butler, John Klecha of Hilliards, Adam Lovette of Cranberry Township, Meghan Regrut of Freedom and Emily Savage of Slippery Rock have been selected as resident assistants for the 2012-13 school year at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College.

Joseph Musher of Zelienople received a scholarship from the Caterpillar Foundation.

Musher is a heavy construction equipment technology with operator emphasis major at the Pennsylvania College of Technology’s School of Natural Resources Management.

Mallory Bachman of Chicora was awarded a $2,000 Brothers Scholarship from the Heritage Group Scholarship Fund.

She will attend Butler County Community College in the fall.

Bachman is the daughter of Brian Bachman, who is employed at Calumet, which is a Heritage Group Company.
