Jordan Elmer, son of Billy Elmer of Penn Township and Heidi Savage of Florida, won the Dominion Foundation Award at the Carnegie Science Center’s Pittsburgh Regional Science and Engineering Fair.
He also received an $8,000 scholarship to Seton Hill University.
Jordan is a junior at Knoch High School.

Mara Shingleton of Butler, a member of the Class of 2014 at Eckerd College, was one of 12 students to be inducted into the college’s chapter of Pi Sigma Alpha, the National Political Science Honor Society.
Shingleton is pursuing a degree in international relations and global affairs and Spanish.

Alixandria Clark, a biology major from Slippery Rock, and Kiara Weltner, a psychology major from Freeport, were recently inducted into the Thiel College chapter of Lambda Sigma.
This national honor society is for second-year students dedicated to fostering leadership, scholarship, fellowship and the spirit of service among college students, and to promoting the interests of the college.
