The Oneida Valley Volunteer Fire Company plans a fundraising event from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Station 35, 301 Oneida Valley Road.
The fire department members are selling lottery calendars for a $20 donation each. The winners will be based on the state Pick 3 evening lottery drawing.
Members will bring the calendars to the cars of those wanting to participate.
During a scheduled maintenance Dec. 25 through 28, Butler County library patrons will not be able to log into accounts, search the library catalog or access e-materials such as Overdrive, Hoopla, Flipster and others.During this maintenance, all Butler County libraries will be closed for important system upgrades.E-books, audiobooks and magazines can be downloaded by Dec. 25 without interruption.Electronic resources and contactless book pickup will resume on Dec. 28.
Mars Area School District will hold its winter break Thursday through Jan. 1.There will be no school for students Wednesday, which is a scheduled in-service day.As the district's schools remain closed to students through Jan. 4, all students will need to utilize remote learning on that day.The district is hoping to reopen its schools to students Jan. 5.However, that decision will be based upon Pennsylvania Department of Education and Pennsylvania Department of Health recommendations as well as Butler County COVID-19 transmission rates at that time.For more information, visit www.marsk12.org.
