Kate Slaugenhoup, Rozina McCanna and Olivia Jo Schill were winners in the Bradys Bend American Legion Post 488 Bishop-Madden Veterans Day essay contest.

The Sugar Creek Elementary School sixth graders wrote about things they could do to show a veteran they are thankful for their service.

Kate won first place. She is the daughter of Dan and Megan Slaugenhoup of East Brady.

Rozina won second place. She is the daughter of Brent and Monica McCanna of East Brady.

Olivia won third place. She is the daughter of Daniel and Lisa Schill of Cowansville.

Lexie Livengood, Logan Byers and Lindsey Karenbauer are Chicora Elementary School sixth graders who were also winners in the Bradys Bend American Legion Post 488 Bishop-Madden Veterans Day essay contest.

Lexie won first place. She is the daughter of Matthew and Deanna Livengood of East Brady.

Logan won second place. She is the daughter of Roy and Tracy Ellenberger and Mick Milochik of Petrolia.

Lindsey won third place. She is the daughter of Denny and Amy Karenbauer of Fenelton.
