Shannon Kovalchick

INDIANA, Pa. — Shannon Kovalchick of Butler received a 2014 Foundation for Indiana (Pa.) University Community Volunteer Service Award.

Kovalchick is a psychology-sociology major in IUP’s Robert E. Cook Honors College and a 2012 graduate of Butler High School. She is a dean’s list student and a provost scholar.

She is a member of the Cook Honors College Honors Connection, works as a research assistant in psychology, worked on the IUP Sex Education Week planning committee and is a member of Phi Eta Sigma honor society and the IUP Residence Hall Council.

Kovalchick also is a Rape, Abuse and Incest National Network student activist and a member of the Cook Honors College Tossed and Turned charity theater group.

She is a volunteer at the Alice Paul House shelter for domestic violence survivors.
