Butler’s junior high wrestling team was busy over the weekend, defeating North Allegheny Black, 76-18, Friday night before winning four of five dual matches in Saturday’s Butler Junior High Duals.

Winning by pin vs. NA Black were Michael Crawford at 100 pounds, Sam Dietrich at 115, Donovan Malovich at 122, Zack Dovenspike at 138, Christian Sequete at 145 and Dane Friedt at 165. Cole Friedt won by major decision at 155.

Winning by decision were Jack Codispot at 90 pounds (2-0) and Saavon Mosby at 250 (4-1).

In Saturday’s duals, the Golden Tornado defeated Burrell 66-24, Indiana 65-18, Hampton 67-21 and Shaler 63-33. Their lone loss was 51-49 to Plum.

Dovenspike went 5-0 with four pins at 138 pounds. Cole Friedt was 5-0 with three pins at 155-165, Riley Burdine 5-0 with two pins at 210.

Justin Stewart went 4-1 with four pins at 110. Sequete at 145-155, Malovich at 122 and Dane Friedt at 165 all went 4-1 with three pins. Codispot at 85 pounds, Sam Lambermont at 185 and Mosby at 250 all went 4-1 with two pins.

Braydon Hoffman went 4-1 at 75 pounds.

Butler Junior High wrestles Wednesday night at Knoch.

In other action:

Butler elementary wrestler Levi Donnel placed second in the 8-under, 55-pound division Sunday at the North Hills Open.
