The Butler Junior High wrestling team finished 17th this weekend at the two-day, 51-team Southwestern Regional tournament.
Placing fifth for the Golden Tornado were Christian Sequete at 145 pounds and Saavon Mosby at 250 pounds. Placving sixth was Dane Friedt at 165 pounds.
Placing seventh were Donovan Malovich at 122 pounds and Riley Burdine at 210.
In other action:
Knoch’s youth wrestlers competed in the Keystone Wrestling League’s year-end finals the past two weekends. Daniel Long took first place in the age 7-8, 95-pound division as did Brendan Hinchberger at 11-12, 115 pounds, and Eli Reese at 11-12, 100 pounds.
Placing second were Christian Scheller at 9-10, 80 pounds, Keegan Fraser at 11-12, 85 pounds, and Matt Goodlin at 11-12, 95 pounds.
Placing third were Brayden McGowan at 6-under, 35 pounds, Bennett Shaw at 7-8, 60 pounds, Devin Whitacre at 9-10, 75 pounds, and Sam Feyermuth at 9-10, 95 pounds. Placing fourth was Ben Ferraro at 6-under, 45 pounds.
