CLARION — Five Butler County basketball players have received All-District 9 honors this season.

Karns City junior Logan Moroney made third team all-district boys. He averaged 10.7 points and 11.8 rebounds on the year.

On the girls side, Karns City’s LeeAnn Gibson made first team, Shanel Preston second team and Emily LoPresti third team. Gibson averaged 16.5 points per game, Preston 11.4, LoPresti 11.3. Moniteau’s Stephanie McCall made third team, averaging 14.5 points per game.

Karns City’s Dave Kerschbaumer was named District 9 Girls Coach of the Year, leading the Gremlins to a 25-2 record and the district championship.
