Butler Catholic’s junior varsity boys basketball team recently won the Cold Turkey Shootout, hosted by St. Gregory School in Zelienople.

The Saints defeated Holy Redeemer of Ellwood City 42-24, St. Peter & Paul of Beaver 32-15 and St. Alexis of Wexford, 42-31, in the championship game.

Nicholas Maher and Carson Laconi scored 13 points each and Nathan Higgins added 10 in the title game. Higgins reached double figures in all three games,

CJ Singleton played a great floor game and Sean LeMay led the team in rebounding.

Others players on the squad include Josiah McConnell, Jon Livermore, Daniel Volker, Flint Watson, Trevor Braun, Nick Rine and Jacob Klinko.
