Butler police arrested a man for having more than two dozen bags of suspected heroin and violating a protection from abuse order last week.

Robert J. Wilhelm, 39, who has no known address, is being held in the Butler County Prison on $10,000 bail. He faces felony drug possession and other charges.

Police said they were called shortly before 6 p.m. Thursday after Vickie Huggins reported the defendant was at her apartment on the 300 block of South Monroe Street. Huggins has a court-issued PFA that bars him from any contact with her, according to court documents.

Wilhelm was gone when officers got to the home but they later found him on Fairview Avenue near Spang Avenue. Police said they searched him and found 25 stamp bags of suspected heroin, a crack pipe and two “push rods.”

The rods are used in the construction of a crack pipe to push a screen into a tube to hold the crack cocaine at one end.

District Judge William Fullerton arraigned him on charges of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and for the PFA violation.
