Butler woman accused of biting, spitting on BMH employee
A Butler woman is accused of biting and spitting on a Butler Memorial Hospital staff member.
Michele Theresa George, 46, was charged Thursday, Sept. 17, by Butler Township police with two felony aggravated assault counts following an incident the previous day.
Police said they were dispatched to the hospital for a report of an employee being assaulted. The allegedly assaulted employee said she was responding to an incident and attempted to restrain George.
Police said during the incident, George assumed a fighting position and swung at staff members then spit in the employee’s face and bit her left forearm.
Visible bruising could be seen on the employee’s inner arm, police said.
George is being held in Butler County Prison on a $5,000 bail. Her preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday before District Judge Kevin O’Donnell.
