Seniors recognized as honor students with distinction
Butler High School students who have achieved a 4.3 or higher grade point average are recognized as honor students with distinction.
Lauren Denny, the daughter of Michael and Vicki Denny of Butler, was named honor student with distinction after final grades were received.
She was a member of the marching and concert bands, symphony youth orchestra and Butler flute trio. She was a member of the National Honor Society, winner of the John Phillip Sousa Award and the Pennsylvania Music Education Association’s Honors Band. She plans to attend Butler County Community College majoring in elementary education.
Alexis Miller, the daughter of Bridget and Patrick Miller of Chicora, was a high school commencement speaker. She was a member of the Feminist Club, Book Club and English Festival. She plans to attend Emory University in Atlanta and major in business.
