JACKSON TWP — Seneca Valley juniors Ehlana Lingenfelter and Julia Hoggay received awards in biology and chemistry, respectively, at Seton Hill University's 28th annual Women in Science Day.
Both students were nominated by their school's science teachers, Rebecca Finch and Kelly Weston.
Women in Science Day recognizes young women who excel in mathematics, biology or chemistry. The award includes a scholarship opportunity for Seton Hill University.
CLARION — Clarion University students Amanda Maze of Butler, Shelby Pepmeyer of Connoquenessing and Mariah Treiber of Grove City will be included in the 2016 edition of “Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.” Inclusion is based on academic achievement, community service, leadership in extracurricular activities and potential for continued success.ANNVILLE — Ian Brown and Lauren Decker, both of Grove City, were named student-athletes at Lebanon Valley College.While competing for conference championships and earning national rankings, student-athletes have the flexibility to double major, study abroad and pursue internships.Brown was a member of the men's cross-country team and is pursuing a bachelor of science in health science and music.Decker was a member of the women's cross-country team and is pursuing a bachelor of science in health science.
