Girl will be national youth correspondent
FAIRFAX, Va. — Cassianna Buzzelli, a student at Mars High School, was selected to represent Gibsonia as a national youth correspondent to the 2016 Washington Journalism and Media Conference at George Mason University in Virginia.
Cassianna was chosen based on her academic accomplishments and her demonstrated interest and excellence in journalism and media studies.
She will be with a select group of students from all over the country for an intensive study of journalism and media.
During the weeklong event, the correspondents will participate in experiential learning through decision-making simulations that challenge them to solve problems and explore the creative, practical, and ethical tensions inherent in journalism and media.
