Moniteau girls fare well at Redbank Valley invite

Moniteau’s Heather Porter placed first in the pole vault with a height of 9 feet, 6 inches Thursday at the Redbank Valley Girls Track and Field Invitational.

Also at the event, two Warriors broke Moniteau school records. Ashley Brehm set a new standard in the javelin with a throw of 115-1, good for second place. Nikki Yeckel placed fourth in the 300 hurdles with a school-record time of 48.8 seconds.

Following are the Moniteau athletes who medaled at the event.

100 hurdles: 5-Nikki Yeckel 17.7; 1,600 run: 2-Allison DeMatteis 5:56.9; 400 run: 6-Kristin McDeavitt 1:06.7; 300 hurdles: 4-Nikki Yeckel 48.8; 800 run: 6-Emily Rider 2:44.2

Shot put: 2-Brittany Lindsay 34-5, 4-Maura Kimmel 33-6; Javelin: 2-Ashley Brehm 115-1, 4-Alycia Brehm 107-7, 5-Heather Porter 104-8; High jump: 4(tie)-Stephanie McCall 4-7; Pole vault: 1-Heather Porter 9-6
