Two people received minor injuries in a three-vehicle accident on Armco Hill on Route 8 Wednesday afternoon, according to Butler Township police.

BUTLER TWP — Two people received minor injuries in a chain-reaction crash involving three vehicles on southbound Route 8 on Armco Hill Wednesday afternoon, Butler Township police report.

The chain-reaction crash occurred shortly after 3 p.m. when a vehicle driven by Rebecca Kreibel, 22, of Lyndora rear-ended a pickup truck, driven by a 17-year-old boy who had stopped behind a car driven by Kimberly Johnson, 61, of Butler, who had stopped to make a left turn into a private lane.

Mike Schmidt, chief of the South Butler Volunteer Fire Department, said the juvenile suffered a bloody nose and a passenger in Johnson’s car, identified by police as Agnes Iribacher, complained of knee pain following the crash.

Both were taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for treatment, Schmidt said. Kreibel was not injured, Schmidt said.

Police did not give Iribacher’s age or address in an accident report released this morning.

The crash snarled traffic along Route 8 for about an hour, as emergency crews worked to haul away two of the three vehicles and clean up a fluid spill from the truck. Route 8 southbound was completely blocked during the cleanup, and traffic along the road backed up for about a mile.
