Connoquenessing Valley recognized statewide
Connoquenessing Valley Elementary School in Harmony has been named as a 2026 Blue Ribbon School by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
The school was recognized for its “academic achievement, school culture and commitment to student success,” according to a Friday news release from Seneca Valley School District.
“Each of our schools has its own unique culture and connection to the community it serves and CVE is a wonderful example of that,” Tracy Vitale, superintendent of Seneca Valley, said in the release.
CVE was one of 12 schools selected across the commonwealth.
“This recognition is a testament to the hard work and dedication these schools put into ensuring learners can grow, thrive and achieve, both now and in the future,” Secretary of Education Carrie Rowe said in a news release from the department.
Previously, in 2012, Ryan Gloyer Middle School had been recognized as a national Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education. The Blue Ribbon Schools program was a nationwide award program started in 1982. It was discontinued in 2025 and then brought back by Pennsylvania as a statewide program in 2025.
The 2026 Pennsylvania Blue Ribbon Schools will be formally recognized during a special luncheon in December.
