Gladys Martin
Gladys M. Martin, 89, of Butler, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2026.
Born May 1, 1937, in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Frances Stevenson Gardner.
Gladys was a devoted member of Meridian Presbyterian Church. Growing up on a dairy farm, one of her chores since second grade was making pies for the evening meal. Gladys was a critical care registered nurse for 40 years and loved taking care of her patients.
She was an avid reader, especially when it pertained to nursing or the human heart. In her free time, she enjoyed motorcycle trips with her husband, George, especially the trip to Nova Scotia. Gladys had many travels within the U.S., most memorable being Hawaii. She was an amazing cook and baker, who loved having the whole family over for the holidays, with Christmas being her favorite. Gladys will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children, George M. Cygan (Tina), of Butler, Gary R. Cygan (Leanne), of Renfrew, and Lori L. Henderson (Scott), of Butler; her grandchildren, Calen Cygan (Nate), Zachary Cygan, Lynn Miller (Tim), G.R. Cygan (Candice), Zack Wilms (Mickaela), Brittany Harrison (Zach) and Brooke Henderson; and her great-grandchildren, Isaac, Simon, Aliza, Raleigh, Decklyn, Brennick, Kinsley, Raelynn, Wyatt, Skylar and Nash.
