Pittsburgh man has bond revoked in stalking case

A man accused of stalking his former girlfriend and sending threatening text messages in violation of a protection from abuse order had his bond revoked during a Wednesday, Nov. 4, hearing.

The decision comes after an Oct. 10 incident in which Brady Ellis, 20, of Pittsburgh, allegedly attempted to contact the woman while she was at Mars Middle School for a homecoming dance.

During Wednesday’s hearing, Ellis’ ex-girlfriend testified they began dating in November 2025 and broke up in October 2026. During testimony, she provided more details about what she says Ellis put her through after she tried to end their relationship.

The woman alleged that after their breakup, Ellis began sending her threatening text messages claiming he was going to hurt her, her family and her friends. She also said he threatened to burn down her house and kill her pets.

Eventually, police became involved, and she provided officers from the Adams Township Police Department the text messages she received. She also obtained a protection from abuse (PFA) order against Ellis.

According to her testimony, Ellis repeatedly violated the order by entering her home unannounced. She also said he continued sending her threatening messages, including telling her he was going to ruin her night at homecoming and telling her to kill herself.

The prosecution argued Ellis’ bond for violating the PFA should be revoked because he continued contacting the woman in the weeks leading up to the preliminary hearing.

Defense attorney Stephie-Anna Ramaley argued Ellis was receiving treatment at a facility in Maryland for substance use and mental health issues, saying revoking his bond would not make much sense under the circumstances.

District Judge Amy Marcinkiewicz decided to revoke Ellis’ bond.
