An Evans City man pleaded guilty Wednesday, Nov. 4, in Butler County Common Pleas Court to a reduced charge filed for sexual assault of a woman beginning when she was 16 years old and continuing until April this year.

Jeffrey Jay Girasek, 55, pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of corruption of minors, which was added Wednesday. He will be sentenced Dec. 1 to serve 48 months of probation and ordered to have no contact with the woman under terms of a plea agreement.

Jackson Township police charged Girasek with a felony count of rape in April for allegedly sexually assaulting the girl beginning in 2016 or 2017 and continuing until April.

Assistant District Attorney Laura Pitchford said the woman Girasek is charged with assaulting agreed to the plea agreement and wants to attend the sentencing hearing.

Judge Joseph Kubit accepted the agreement and scheduled sentencing.

According to an affidavit filed in April, the woman told police Girasek groomed her for sexual assault. The two had lived together for 24 years and were introduced through a family member when she was a child, police said.

In September 2025, Girasek told the woman to get a tubal litigation procedure to avoid pregnancy, which she did. He began recording their sexual acts and storing the recordings on CDs, according to the affidavit.

The woman told police that Girasek believed the two were in a relationship and that he forced her to share a bed with him. The woman said neither the relationship nor any sexual acts were consensual, according to the affidavit.

Girasek told police the two had been a couple for the last two years and they had been sharing a bedroom for a year. Girasek also told police the woman flirted with him “by the way she walked and clothes she wore.” He suggested the sexual relationship began in 2017.

Police said the woman reported that Girasek forced her to send him nude photos of herself every morning, controlled all of her electronics and tracked her movements.
