Clinton

Jim is on the right track. As for Clinton's 10 "accomplishments" let's set the record straight. Welfare reform was a campaign promise only to win moderates. The actual bill that passed was a Republican one, the third submitted to Slick Willie. His Democrat party members were against enforceable work rules, and Clinton was between a rock and a hard place so he signed it. He also signed NAFTA. As for the other items in the list, they all fall under one category - a robust economy inherited from Reagan's policies. Clinton just rode the wave and took credit for it. He also passed the biggest tax increase ever, before the Republicans swept both Houses of Congress in '94. I am not going to begin to enumerate his failures - we are still living with them though. And the budget "surplus" was an illusion. Both Republicans and Democrats use shady accounting practices (that would never be allowed in the business world). An AUDITED Treasury Dept. budget actually showed massive deficits in his final 4 years.
