Butler man accused of crashing into child riding e-bike
A Butler man is accused of striking a child on an e-bike with a vehicle and leaving the scene, according to Butler police.
Jonathan Keith Maker, 61, was charged last week with misdemeanor accident involving damage following a Sept. 23 crash.
Police said they were dispatched just before 7 p.m. that night to the area of North Chestnut and Federal streets for a reported hit-and-run crash where a child on an e-bike was struck by a small four-door sedan. Police traced the vehicle to Maker and said he admitted to striking the child and leaving the scene.
Charges were filed on Oct. 23. Maker’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10:15 a.m. Dec. 7 before District Judge William Fullerton.
