Slupe: Sheriffs' Association isn't calling for cash
Butler County Sheriff Mike Slupe on Monday issued a fraud alert on someone falsely seeking money for the Pennsylvania Sheriffs’ Association.
Early Monday a Cranberry Township man received a call from a man who identified himself as Paul Martin representing the sheriffs’ association.
“Martin” was soliciting a $100 donation for the association magazine. The township man knew the association does not conduct phone solicitations, so he contacted Slupe.
The association only uses mailings for membership drives.
