Hailie Sandor

PITTSBURGH — Hailie Sandor of Evans City recently attended the Major League Baseball Diversity Business Summit in Phoenix.

She was one of two students selected for the opportunity by Point Park University and the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Sandor is studying for a bachelor's degree in sports, arts and entertainment management at Point Park University.

She is a graduate of Seneca Valley High School and the daughter of Michael and Beverly Sandor of Evans City.

BRADFORD — Zackery France of Portersville was among the 34 University of Pittsburgh at Bradford students chosen to have their artwork displayed as part of the 13th annual “Affairs of the Art” exhibition at the university.

His work was a digital print called 'Lifeline.'

France is an environmental studies major.

The exhibition opened March 18 and will continue through April 18 in Blaisdell Hall.

INDIANA, Pa. — Erika Fenstermacher, a student at Indiana (Pa.) University, was appointed by Gov. Tom Wolf as the student trustee on the IUP Council of Trustees.Members of the council provide financial oversight of the university and ensure compliance of university policy with state law. She will serve as a student trustee until her graduation in 2017.Fenstermacher is a junior in the psychology honors program. She has a sociology minor and a concentration in gerontology.She is the vice president of the IUP Ambassadors and a member of Psi Chi psychology honor society. She completed a practicum on the behavioral health unit (geriatric) at Indiana Regional Medical Center. Fenstermacher also is a student worker in the IUP Office of the President and she volunteers for the Indiana County Humane Society.Fenstermacher graduated from Butler High School in 2013. She is the daughter of Tricia Fenstermacher of Corry and the late Bruce Fenstermacher.———

SLIPPERY ROCK — Madigan Roxberry, a Slippery Rock High School freshman, was named as a Carson Scholar by the Pittsburgh chapter of the Carson Scholars Fund.
