Employees from PPG move in
CRANBERRY TWP — PPG Industries has started moving several hundred employees to a new divisional headquarters in the Cranberry Woods office park, a company spokesman said Tuesday.
Mark Silvey said the Pittsburgh company is establishing its architectural coatings headquarters, one of many wings of the company, in Cranberry.
He said about 200 employees have already moved into the 120,000-square-foot facility at 400 Bertha Lamme Drive in the Westinghouse Electric complex.
Those employees have come from an array of places such as Kentucky, Delaware and Ohio after PPG decided to consolidate the architectural coatings division into one location.
The facility will eventually hold more than 500 employees, while the move will likely be complete by the end of this year, Silvey said.
The move is the culmination of a process that started late last year when PPG in September announced it was establishing a presence in Cranberry.
“About 200 employees have moved to the facility in Cranberry Woods within recent weeks, and the plan is to add a couple hundred more by the end of the year,” Silvey said. “The majority of the employees will be in place by the end of the year.”
State officials lured the industrial company here after offering nearly $4 million in economic incentives in the form of a $1.25 million grant, along with tax credits and a loan.
Silvey said employees in marketing, administrative, information technology, human resources, finance and sales have already moved into the Cranberry Woods office space.
