Echo will close
CRANBERRY TWP — Restaurant Echo will close at the end of the month.
Executive chef and owner Brian Hammond said Wednesday that he will look for a smaller space to accommodate his format of handmade food and intimate service.
“We are looking for a space that is going to make a little more sense for what we do,” Hammond said.
The expansive building along Route 228 beside the Cranberry Woods Office Park was home to the restaurant for three-and-a-half years after Hammond bought the property on Dec. 13, 2010.
The previous restaurant was Hereford and Hops, a microbrewery that was the building’s first occupant.
Hammond said he hopes to find a new venue in the Pittsburgh area.
“With all the expansion and growth in Cranberry, we had a great time working here and getting to know everyone in the area,” Hammond said. “We are weighing our options.”
The restaurant’s last day will be May 31.
