Fond Christmas memory
I am hoping to change the tone of the web pages for just a moment. I know that many former Butler residents read these posts. Does anyone care to share a Butler holiday memory?
One of my favorite child memories is walking on Main Street at night with the christmas decorations all lit up. Riding the elevator at Troutman's department store was exciting.
I remember standing at the corner with my Baba and counting 18 times that the bells for crosswalks had sounded as she talked to what seemed like every person from West End and Lyndora. It was rude to interrupt an adult back then, so I resorted to mentioning the restroom so that we could go. I could smell the Hotdog Shop. That was our stop after Aland's Toy store. I couldn't believe that there was just a store for toys. I loved Main Street then, and my Baba.
Peace on earth, Good will to all of you.
